Images are being added to the Sporn Gallery all the time, but we also have our first Featured Submission and first Sporn Hall of Fame recipient! Although I don’t know if you could really call it Sporn, I really like the creation below. Great job!

Welcome! Sporn, in the context of this website, refers to the creation of mature content for the videogame Spore. The word came into existence at the time of the release of the Spore Creature Creator, when the gaming community at large got a little more creative with the tool than anticipated!

While many may consider “Sporn” (Spore + Porn) to be vulgar or childish in nature, others consider it to be humorous and/or creative. Will Wright, one of the creators of Spore, even praised the creation of Sporn.

Wright recently told The Associated Press:

“When you give players creative control, you have to expect they’re going to do the unexpected…Some of it’s really good for what they were shooting for. It’s amazingly explicit, especially when those creations are animated. We just have to make sure those people aren’t messing up the experience for others.”

Here at Sporn Site we do not wish to “mess up the experience for others”. Which is why our picture gallery includes a dislaimer page which is read before entering. We respect that many people do not want to view Sporn, nor do they want their children to view it. We make it clear what you are getting when you visit Sporn Site.
